Job Title: Software Developer
- Location: Victoria, BC

The Job
As a software developer at SYNQ, you’ll be working as part of a small but mighty team to develop high-quality software used by retailers and front line workers (FLWs). SYNQ offers a suite of cloud-based tools, some patented, that help retailers reduce costs, improve efficiency, and grow sales. SYNQ’s platform has facilitated hundreds of millions of interactions between customers and retailers.
You’ll get to work on tools that are used by some of the biggest retailers in the world, as well as be a key part of our push into other industries including healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality software for the cloud and running on embedded Linux services
- Work closely with industry experts translating insights and vision into technical reality
- Define, document, and communicate objectives, requirements, and constraints for software projects
- Work collaboratively with the team to overcome challenges, hit deadlines, and continually innovate
- Participate in peer review of designs; provide and receive critique in an effective manner
- Research new technologies and methodologies, and suggest new ways to improve SYNQ’s products and services
Qualifications
- Degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience and background
- 5+ years of professional experience developing web applications
- Full-stack experience
- Experience with progressive web application frameworks such as Angular and React
- Experience with MVT/MVC frameworks such as Django and Laravel
- Experience developing high-performance relational or object relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
- Fluency in Git and experience in the following languages: JavaScript, Python, C++, Typescript, PHP
Skills
- Proficiency with Azure cloud services
- Results-oriented and self-motivated
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously
- Track record of successful on-time project delivery

Salary: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
