Position Summary:
- Working as a professional IT consultant in the field of software testing with a geographically spread team for one of the Big Five (Canadian Banks). The initial assignment is API test automation for a complex calculation engine using REST-assured libraries in a BDD framework.
- One must have authorization to work in Canada and Must be willing to relocate to anywhere in Atlantic Canada.

Your future duties and responsibilities
- Perform requirements analysis and quality risk analysis
- Support creation of Test Strategies & Test Plans
- Develop and maintain test cases, automated scripts, and traceability matrices
- Facilitate the identification and preparation of test data
- Ensure quality processes are followed
- Execute system and integration test scripts
- Detect, log, and retest defects
- Participate and contribute to the Lessons Learned Sessions
- Participate in knowledge transition activities
- Communicate progress of testing activities to the team/test lead or directly to client
- Produce “client” and “internal” status reports
- Maintain a solid understanding of software testing best practices, methodologies, and terminologies
- Coach and mentor other members
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- At least 5 -7 years of experience in automation development and testing
- Strong programming skills in Java
- Experience with REST API application programming interface
- Experience in various data structures for storing and traversing payloads
- Experience with Git source control tools such as Bitbucket and GitHub
- Experience in Agile development methodologies and continuous integration /
continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
- Experience with BDD framework
- Knowledge of software testing principles and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to research problems and provide recommendations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:
- Mainframe experience (IMS/DB2, Host File extraction etc.)
- ISTQB Certified Foundation Level (and/or other industry recognized testing certifications)
- Working experience with accessibility testing and tools (ex. JAWS, etc.)
- Experience working with industry standard mobile test tools (ex. Perfecto, Appium, etc.)
