Our client, one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico has an immediate need for a Senior Technical Writer. This is a contract position for three (3) months located in Calgary, Alberta.

The Senior Technical Writer leads the development of program, process and procedure documents and formal reports with a department.
Role Accountabilities:

Provide expert technical advice and consultation regarding the development of all formal program and process documents within the department.

Provide support for the review of existing procedure documents and the development of new documents within the Operating Procedures (OP) Management System.

Provides effective facilitation and coordination of input from subject matter experts within the OPs development process.

Assists in partnering with key stakeholders within the department to develop effective reports, summaries, and proposals.

Facilitate the development of information and marketing materials for the department.

Ensures effective management of documents within the electronic document management system.

Can be tasked with managing junior technical writers.

Can be tasked with redesigning the technical documentation standards.
Qualifications:
-
10 + years of experience as a technical writer in Oil and Gas with a background in HSE procedures and practices

University Degree in relevant discipline

Demonstrated experience with writing safety documentation for operators in the field.

Knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulatory requirements.

Strong skills in other MS Office products, primarily Teams PowerPoint and Adobe

Knowledge in SharePoint (e.g., site administration, lists & libraries)

Familiarity with Usability mapping (nice to have)

Must have excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Professional demeanor, comfortable communicating with various internal clients
