Role Summary
The Business Systems Analyst works with internal and external stakeholders including the technology and business teams to develop and implement data warehouse solutions tailored to a project’s requirements. The nature of the projects varies from Waterfall to Agile and technology varies from legacy to cutting edge. They are involved throughout the project lifecycle by participating in capturing and documenting requirements, test strategy/plans, test cases, execution of testing and sign off. They are supported by team members and the Practice Manager.
This position does not have any direct reports.
Day to Day Deliverables

Develop a deep, multilayered understanding of the business issues and the data challenges of the client’s organizations and their industries

Ensure requirements are clear and complete, eliminating uncertainties and ambiguities

Create detailed business, functional and non-functional requirement documents, obtain sign off from key stakeholders, provide ongoing updates and review throughout the project life cycle

Establish the quality of solutions through validation against the requirements

Participate in creating test strategy/plans, execute test cases, regression testing and defect management.

Demonstrate collegial teamwork internally and with clients, by communicating clearly with all project team members to identify and resolve issues for delivery success.

Participate in the development of project plans to establish appropriate workload expectations and schedules.

5 – 7+ years Required Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’ degree in Computer Science/ Engineering or a related field
-
Must have experience with either Fraud or Security
-
Related experience as a business systems analyst in a business environment
-
Working with databases and/or BI tools
-
Familiarity with software development and project management lifecycle practices
-
Ability to write/execute complex SQL and work with relational databases
-
Ability to work with data transformation and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) data
-
Ability to work with data to draw actionable insights to aid with requirements and strategic decisions
-
Familiarity with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence concepts would be an asset

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to convey complex ideas, verbally and in writing, to both business/technical staff and customers.
