The Social Media Specialist will be working closely with the Manager, CRM & Digital Marketing, your primary focus will be to support the management of Kia Canada’s (KCA) various social properties and to help drive the achievement of related social KPIs. You will be responsible for the execution of social media content strategies and will be tasked with increasing KCA’s share of voice in Canada’s competitive auto industry. You will work closely with our Marketing, Sales departments, as well as the Agency of Record.
Responsibilities

Collaborate with the agency partner on monthly social calendar and social campaigns.

Develop a strong content management plan for required social channels by daily monitoring and audit of agency interactions of all social channels (Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok).

Work in collaboration with agency to ensure that social media responses are accurate and ensuring that any crisis management is handled appropriately with relevant stakeholders.

Utilize and leverage social sentiment platform for community listening and information gathering.
- Assist the Digital Marketing Manager and agency with content creation as well as asset gathering – providing ideas and sharing breaking news, reviews, and articles which would be of interest to our fans.

Lead project management initiatives for social specific campaigns – i.e. Contests, grassroots/guerrilla executions.
- Help to establish targets for campaigns and work with agency on post-campaign reporting.
- Monitor and record key KPIs and metrics from campaigns.

Assist in processing vendor and partner invoices in a timely manner.

Analyze current campaign performance and suggest improvements based on insights gathered.
- Regularly conduct and report research of upcoming digital, social trends, and news.
Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Education Required

2-5 years of work experience managing social media in a similar role (agency or corporate).

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, related discipline, or equivalent work experience.

Automotive experience would be an asset.

Bilingualism in French would be an asset.

Graphic design and videography would be an asset.

Microsoft Suite proficiency.

Strong working knowledge of communication principles and practices.

Must possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication with strong writing, editorial abilities, and high attention to detail.

Demonstrated success with Web Editorial and Social Media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and others.
- Must possess strong analytical and project management skills.
- High degree of project management practices, encompassing strong use of time management and detail execution.
- Must have the ability to be an influential communications consultant within the organization.
