About Us...
Update TV & Stereo specializes in much more than the name indicates. Currently a Platinum level Control4 dealer, and now a Crestron dealer as well, Smart Home and Automation has become a major part of Update’s product offering. While still focusing on custom home theatres, and AV in general, Update has extended its product and service range into networking, smart lighting, surveillance, security, window treatments and home comfort in residential and commercial spaces.
Update currently has 2 dedicated showrooms in the York region. Our Richmond Hill store currently acts as our Custom Department’s headquarters and showroom for TVs and custom home theatre. The Vaughan location provides a boutique style shopping experience featuring a strong variety of AV and custom.

Job Description...
Our sales position duties include, but are not limited to:
- Greet and qualify every customer who comes into any of our stores
- Achieve an exceptional closing rate and demonstrate consistency with sales
- Embrace our highly proactive learning culture
- Be an expert at all products, brands, technologies and services that we sell, using available store time and resources but also taking personal time to accelerate the process and maintain our exceptional standards
- Work with a daily and weekly action plan to ensure a high level of consistent and organized productivity
- Designing ideal AV systems and solutions for all types of rooms, homes and businesses
- Providing site surveys for customer homes and businesses to better assess their needs and options
- Assist with in-store security, maintenance, merchandising standards, etc…
- Assist other locations with inventory inquiries, transfers, deliveries, client management, store coverage, etc…
- Help with promotional events, shows, marketing initiatives, etc… to help build brand awareness and reputation
Qualifications...
Not all qualifications are mandatory, but the more you have the better. Mandatory qualifications are marked.
- passion and enthusiasm for the A/V industry (mandatory)
- sales floor experience (mandatory)
- A/V electronics sales experience
- comfortable visiting clients for site surveys, project management and service calls
- class G drivers license
- fluent in English (Verbal and Written)
- positive attitude with a drive to constantly learn new things
- must be trainable (mandatory)
- organized, responsible, bondable
