Our client, a market leading financial institution, has an immediate need for a Technical Writer/Project Coordinator. This is a contract position for six (6) months located in Calgary, Alberta.
Description
The Technical Writer/Project Coordinator will work with internal stakeholders and project teams to obtain an in-depth understanding on applications, business processes, business rules, and determination of documentation requirements.
Role Accountabilities:

Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.

Planning and coordination of content authoring effort and reporting on progress

Produce high quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.

Write easy-to-understand documents (user guides, FAQ documents, quick start guides, knowledge base documentation, procedures, etc.)

Align with internal information architecture requirements.

Proofread copy written by colleagues to correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.

Work in close collaboration and alignment with Change Management Specialist and Quality Assurance Lead on multiple projects

Follow-up of outstanding items in Jira to ensure timely action and resolution.
Qualifications:

Technical Writing Certification, University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred

Proven working experience in technical writing of user and software documentation.

Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail.

Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.

Excellent written skills in English

Strong working knowledge of writing style guides and usability engineering

Strong working knowledge of software tools and programs (Google Docs and Google Sheets, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Tech Smith, Atlassian Jira, Atlassian Confluence, etc.)

Strong working knowledge of technical terms and concepts for software
- Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development

Strong organizational and time management skills

Working knowledge of Jira and Google Suite
