Today is the day to boost your career! Pinchin is seeking a Project Technologist to join our Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) and Hazardous Materials (HAZ) team in our Saint John, NB Office.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, New Brunswick, the Project Technologist will provide clients with a variety of consulting services involving indoor air quality, Legionella, microbial contamination, infection control, worker exposure and workplace monitoring, safety inspections and audits. You will assist in developing various types of hygiene, health, and safety documentation, prepare technical reports and liaise with clients to ensure their needs and goals are met. Pinchin staff as part of the Saint John teamwork at a number of residential, commercial, and industrial client sites throughout New Brunswick.
A Day in the life of a Project Technologist at Pinchin:

Complete assessments for mould, indoor air quality (IAQ), designated substances and other hazardous materials

Conduct interviews with clients regarding building history and site-specific client concerns.

Perform inspections and evaluate building systems
-
Assess building damages related to floods, water losses, smoke, and fire
-
Assist clients following flood and loss emergencies to get buildings dried, cleaned, or remediated and operational

Use various types of equipment to record measurements and collect various samples.

Identify and sample suspect asbestos, lead, and PCB-containing materials.

Collect a variety of air and bulk (mould, asbestos, lead, dust, bacteria, etc.) samples.

Interpret laboratory results.

Inspect abatement and restoration contractors undertaking asbestos and other hazardous materials abatement work to document that the work has been properly completed.

Inspect abatement and restoration contractors undertaking mould, asbestos and other hazardous materials remediation work to document that the work has been properly completed.

Collect and analyze Phase Contract Microscope (PCM) asbestos air samples.

Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and provide recommendations to address concerns
What you bring to the Pinchin team:
-
College diploma in Construction or Architectural Technology, or Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent
-
Post-graduate environmental management certificate or equivalent would be an asset
-
Entry level to five years of experience with IEQ and/or HAZ work experience considered an asset.

Consulting industry experience preferred
-
Experience with building construction or maintenance is an asset.

Familiarity with building systems (structure, envelope, HVAC, electrical, plumbing etc.)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Exceptional oral and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

High attention to detail

Valid driver’s license, insurance and a personal vehicle required

Availability to travel to clients’ sites (primarily within NB and on occasion to other provinces to help other offices)

Availability to work outside of core business hours (occasional evening and weekends)
