We have a fantastic opportunity for a driven and ambitious sales leader to drive results with one of the most forward-looking asset management firms in Canada.
This external role works within wealth distribution under the brand of Sun Life Global Investments. Sun Life Global Investments brings together the strength of Sun Life Financial with best-in-class asset managers from around the world to offer a line-up of unique world class investment solutions.

What will you do?

Conduct face to face meetings with key IIROC / Full-Service Brokerage, MFDA, and MGA advisors and team members - including but not limited to providing thought leadership, practice management and portfolio analysis promoting SLGI’s product line-up

Achieve wealth sales targets for all products (mutual funds, segregated funds, annuities) by leveraging your established relationship while prospecting for new advisor relationships

Develop and execute on an unmatched advisor experience conducted via sales meetings and investor seminars.

Assist in developing and implementing strategies designed to provide “best of class” marketing support and new sales ideas and concepts to Advisors.

Represent and promote Sun Life Global Investments in the local financial community by developing strong business relationships with advisors and industry associations.

Perform front line business risk management function through awareness, support and implementation of compliance and company policies with advisors, including supervision of sales related activities.

Create and implement a thorough territory coverage plan
Business Sales Strategies

Drive sales results and increase market share by creating and executing regional business plan

Identify sales opportunities through new or existing partnerships

Consult with investment advisors to help build their business through leading product knowledge, help with prospecting, lead generation, industry and competitive data

Work directly with the Regional Vice President to strategize ways to increase client penetration and overall sales

Deliver sales presentations for all distribution channels
Teamwork & Leadership

Provide leadership to your team consisting of the Wealth Sales Representative and Wealth Sales Coordinator

Cultivate a positive and collaborative team environment within regional and national team

Work with Regional Vice President, and fellow Wealth Sales Directors to define, promote and share best practices

What do you need to succeed?

IIROC/FSB/MFDA/MGA industry sales experience

University Degree or equivalent industry education

Strong influencing and negotiation skills

Superior relationship building skills

Sales-driven with proven ability to actively source, pursue and close new business opportunities

An in-depth understanding of financial service needs from wealth accumulation through wealth preservation.

Strong knowledge of all wealth products and sales processes

Extensive knowledge of Wealth Management industry, our competitors and their products and services, including market segmentation and trends

Proven networking and communication skills, able to effectively communicate with financial planners and product developers

Ability to analyze sales information to help develop and business case targeted sales incentive programs

Strong presentation skills (including use of technology), ability to think and respond quickly, able to adapt to change within a rapidly growing and complex area of personal financial services

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Professional Financial Planner (PFP), Chartered Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Investment Management (CIM) designations are an asset
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
