About the Role
Sun Life’s Physical Security and Crisis Management department is looking for an experienced security screening and compliance professional. Our team manages a best-in-class corporate physical asset protection and crisis management program, safeguarding Sun Life’s people and operations worldwide. Our dynamic group of professionals delivers effective oversight, assessment, consulting, and support services in physical risk management. Our broad range of responsibilities include global incident monitoring and response, physical security systems and technology, travel risk, enhanced personnel protection, as well as occupational health & safety.
This newly created role will focus on enhancing processes and program execution with team members across the Physical Security and Crisis Management department. The role will work closely with partners within the department and across the broader security and governance landscape, contributing to the overall success of our strategy. In collaboration with leadership, you will identify opportunities for improvements, integrations, and convergence through lean six sigma and related frameworks. This role will also have the unique opportunity to be a contributor and advocate for sustainability opportunities, working with leadership on promotion and reporting of the program within our broader department.
What you will do
As the Process and Program Manager, you will:

Drive innovation with processes and procedures, working on implementation with your team members and partners.

Navigate conversations with all levels of management to promote and design effective program deliverables.

Oversee departmental reporting requirements, working with subject matter experts on content creation and refinement.

Investigate and source process and technical solutions to enable business success, maintain compliance, and meet objectives.
-
Navigate operational risk and audit requests, triaging with appropriate team resources and ensuring a timely response.

Support regulatory changes affecting department programs.
-
Collaborate with subject matter experts in providing communications, training, and progress reporting on sustainability goals.

In consultation with departmental leadership, provide support to budget operations and the execution of program elements.
What you need to succeed
-
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience managing operations, compliance, regulatory, legal, procurement or a related role, preferably within a government or corporate organization of comparable size and complexity to Sun Life.

Post-secondary education in related field, with recent and relevant courses, training, as well as certifications. Equivalent experience will be considered.

Superior organizational skills with managing competing deadlines and priorities.

Strong service-oriented written and verbal communication skills.

Passion for enabling collaboration within a fast-paced environment.

Strong ability to manage autonomously and take initiative within increasingly dynamic work environments.

Highly collaborative within a diverse workforce, wide variety of internal departments, as well as government partners.

Demonstration of high ethical regard and accountability.
Unique requirements

Obtaining a Canadian Reliability Status security clearance (candidate must have resided only in Canada for the past 5 consecutive years).

Potential for appointment as an Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) by the Government of Canada.
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
