We’re looking for a Category Manager to join our growing company and play a key role in our customer experience by ensuring each purchase ends in a smile!
Job Description
In this role you will:
-
Support the VP of Merchandising to implement and execute Accessories Merchandising strategy across all SCC/DV channels
-
Actively search for new brands and product innovation, and have a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape to protect and grow the company’s market share and stay current on market trends

Identify opportunities for category expansion - assortment selection, flow, life cycle and distribution across multiple channels

Manage all Vendor/Brand Partnerships includng all on-boarding and documentation

Be responsible for Product costings and negotiations

Use financial analysis to recommend actions to maximize sales and profit

Manage internal partnerships with Direct Sourcing, Supply Chain, Operations, Marketing, Ecommerce, Finance & Customer Service

Develop New Product Rollouts and Exit Strategies – ensure clear cross-functional communication & collaboration, support and signoffs

Ensure consistency in product compliancy & audits

Create processes and tools that enable the team to work efficiently and effectively

Prepare monthly reviews of competitive landscape

Manage daily needs of Merchandise Coordinator to best support priorities & business needs

Lead and influence merchandising & cross-functional teams to achieve common goals

Collaborate with peers to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily

Ensure the execution of team deliverables and adapt team priorities based on changing needs
Qualifications
The Qualifications and Experience we like to see:
-
University or College degree in Merchandising, Business or related discipline
-
5-7 years’ experience in retail office environment with focus on merchandising, category management, fashion/apparel or accessories business; eCommerce experience would be an asset

Must have strong understanding of buying, analytics and managing vendor relationships

Experience with direct sourcing, marketing campaigns and in-store visual presentations is an asset
-
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational, relationship-building, negotiation, analytical, presentation and project management skills
-
Manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast pace work environment
-
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders as well as build and develop strong partnerships
-
Business savvy and up to date on current market and industry trends
-
Proficiency in MS Office, ERP and Reporting Systems
-
Bilingual English and French is an Asset but not required
