VERB is looking for an experienced SEO Strategist to join our growing SEO team. Are you someone who thinks strategically, has proven tactical SEO experience and thrives on the hands-on experience of SEO implementation? Do you enjoy speaking with clients, presenting SEO strategy and insights that highlight business performance? You’ll collaborate with marketing strategists, writers, social media marketers, user experience experts and creative designers to develop SEO strategies that will increase search visibility for VERB’s clients around the world.
- Manage day-to-day SEO activities for retainers and new builds
- Manage pre and post launch SEO activities for new builds and launches by coordinating SEO tasks
- Use a variety of SEO tactics (site architecture, on-page, off-page, local SEO) to improve clients’ visibility in search results, and create and present reports to clients that provide insight and rational to those tactics and recommendations
- Manage backlink profiles for client sites including developing and implement link building strategies and other off-page optimization tactics
- Work with the SEO team lead to develop and implement an integrated SEO strategy for clients
- Continuously think of ways to improve SEO strategies and tactics and help implement those changes
- Use a suite of tools to monitor and troubleshoot client SEO performance
- Perform SEO activities including, but not limited to, keyword research, competitor research, content, and website performance analysis
- Maintain SEO keywords and trends charts
- Follow up with the Accounts team and other departments as required to ensure relevant tasks are completed
- Stay up to date on SEO and integrated marketing trends and work closely with multiple internal teams to incorporate SEO research into other channels
- Coordinate with PPC teams on SERP strategy
- Provide client SEO training, as required
Participate in SEO team training activities and assist with other SEO activities as required
Requirements
- 2+ years of SEO experience
- Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of ranking factors and SEO best practices along with the ability to drive search performance through a variety of SEO tactics
- Working knowledge of CMS’ (content management systems) such as Wordpress and Drupal, with recent experience identifying and fixing on-site SEO technical issues
- Experience managing SEO for websites with Wordpress and Drupal
- Experience crawling and analyzing websites for technical SEO issues
- Proven experience managing domain indexing with Google Search Console
- Knowledge of technical SEO tools (i.e., Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, etc.) and keyword tools (i.e., SEMRush, Ahrefs, etc.)
- Experience managing organic search efforts for multiple clients, focus on hospitality and tourism an asset
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics or other analytics tools
- Knowledge of robots.txt, regular expressions and schema markup
- Comfortable presenting reports to clients and able to clearly explain rationale for decision making
- Demonstrated ability to write and create content for SEO
- Able to take constructive criticism as a learning opportunity and apply feedback as needed
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Highly organized with the ability to function in a fast-paced business environment
- Familiarity with GBP listings and/or social media campaigns is considered an asset
