Location: Whitecourt, AB (will require travel to Whitecourt of Fox Creek 2x per month for 2-3 working days)

Description
The Technical Writer develops written information regarding the development, use and support of computing systems. Outputs include a range of documents to be read by both technical and nontechnical personnel using and supporting those systems.
Scope Of Work Examples
- System, process, and service documentation; training materials, user guides, communications
- Design and writing of technical documentation
- Delivers written documentation, including procedures, user manuals and quick reference guides
- Delivers electronic documentation, including Web content and meta tags, CBTs, online surveys, and application-embedded online help
- Writes requirements for systems documentation changes
- Analyzes existing documentation for potential audit gaps
- Edits written material for grammar, clarity, and audience comprehension
- Responds to general questions about language, writing and writing tools
- Supports project teams by developing CPDEP documentation
- Maintains Chevron policy compliance and branding requirements (e.g., copyright, trademark usage)
- Support the management of existing and/or new Procedures software systems
- Develop System, process, and service documentation, training materials, user guides, communications
- Develop procedures to support Field Operations and Maintenance activities in Oil and Gas
- Coordinates design and writing of technical documentation
- Contributes content to the selected procedure management system of record Complete development of procedures in existing maintenance backlog Collaborate with Maintenance to identify additional maintenance procedures and add to backlog Collaborate with Maintenance and prioritize backlog
Required/Preferred Skills/Experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft® Office suite
- Active Alberta Driver's License required
- 8-10 years of experience required
- Experience writing procedures in Oil and Gas or other technical fields
- Experience with Procedure management software packages
- Educational Certificate in Technical Writing or Journalism required
- Preferred: English Literature BA/Degree/Diploma
