CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS SENIOR SPECIALIST

We are presently inviting applications for the Full-Time (12-to-18-month Contract) position of:
CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS SENIOR SPECIALIST
The Corporate Communications Senior Specialist is responsible for assisting with the planning, coordination, development, delivery and evaluation of internal and external marketing and communication strategies and plans that align with Essex Power and its group of companies. The role supports corporate communications, branding, customer experience initiatives and energy conservation strategies. The Senior Specialist also supports the development and implementation of the customer’s digital experience and creating an online presence for Essex Power.
As a member of the Essex Power Corporation communications team, the successful candidate will posses the following:
Skills and Abilities:
- Advanced skills in social media marketing including Facebook, X, LinkedIn
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Advanced time management skills
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Advanced proficiency with WordPress
- Intermediate Adobe Cloud and Goggle Analytics skills
- Basic project management skills
- Basic skills in using Hootsuite and Canva
Knowledge:
- Intermediate knowledge of rates and the distribution system
- Intermediate knowledge of marketing principles and plans
- Intermediate knowledge of public relations and communications tools
- Intermediate knowledge of renewable energy generation and conservation programs in Ontario
- Intermediate knowledge of the Ontario Energy Market
- Intermediate knowledge of communication/publication software
- Basic knowledge of website management
- Basic knowledge of renewable energy resources
- Basic knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety requirements as it relates to individual’s, the organization and operational requirements
Experience, Education, Licenses, Other
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Communications or Public Relations
- 2+ years in an external communications role
- Experience in the Electric Distribution sector an asset
- Experience in writing news releases
- Valid Class G driver’s license
- Ability for occasional travel outside of Essex County.
