The Role
Sepro has a rewarding career opportunity in Langley, British Columbia for an Automation Manager to join our growing team. The Automation Manager will work directly with customers all over the world to ensure that the electrical components of the equipment are running. You will be providing Sepro’s customers with hands-on service in diverse environments, including installation, commissioning, repairs and maintenance of Sepro’s mineral processing equipment.

The Role
· Design and commission industrial electrical power systems, including electrical room design, equipment specifications, motor control, grounding systems, cable and raceway sizing, layouts, etc.
· Review the customer’s technical requirements, develop engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades
· Design electrical, control, and instrumentation systems including P&ID drawings, single-line drawings, instrument loop drawings, electrical
· Provide technical support to customers
· Design, configure and program PLC/HMI applications
· Review technical documentation and provide notes and updates if necessary
· Work with vendors to specify any needed electrical and automation parts, panels, and equipment
· Research and test for R&D projects
· Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, technologists
· Source and provide training courses for the Automation department
· Develop custom solutions for special automation/integration requirements and quote these
· Inspire, build and foster a sense of team, manage, coach and develop team members
Role Requirements
· Electrical Engineer Technologist with a relevant degree
· A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience
· Experience with mineral processing equipment
· Strong experience in commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting of control systems
· Experience in PLC programming
· Experience in SCADA systems
· Multi-tasks well, providing support for numerous priorities simultaneously
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Sound analytical and critical thinking skills
· Technical writing skills
· Experience dealing with diverse groups and able to build strong relationships across multiple departments
· Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities
· Resourceful; track record of developing solutions to problems that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity
· Track record of strong interpersonal, communication skills
· Able and willing to travel to domestic and international locations up to 30% of the time
Beneficial have
· Electrical Red Seal ticket
· Experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Mitsubishi equipment including VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, equipment connection diagrams, etc
